Every year I say the same thing but I really can’t believe it’s already mid-September and it’s time to start sending out details about mini sessions. I’ve been pretty quiet again this year on my website and blog. With 3 kids ages six, four and one I’ve been busy keeping up with them. But now that it’s (almost) fall I’m ready to jump back in to photography mode. Just like the last few years, I have very limited availability for sessions so please be sure to book your session spot soon.

This year I am trying something new for two of the session dates in November (listed as Private Residence below). A good friend of mine (and fellow photographer) has graciously offered up her backyard and we are partnering to create a more styled session. Currently we are planning to have a red vintage truck for photos as well as a mini hot cocoa bar. You can see some of our inspiration here. We’re currently in the planning stages and figuring out when the best lighting is so the times may change slightly from what you see listed below but I will give you plenty of notice of any time change. In addition to the truck and hot cocoa bar, I will still take simpler photos without props so you will have a variety of images to choose from.

After offering mini sessions for the last 6 years at the same price, my session fee has increased by $30 (taxes are included). I appreciate you understanding the need to increase my fee as my experience and quality of my photos has continued to improve over the years. The price to download all of the images in your gallery as well as the cost for individual digital files and all of my other products will remain the same.

Please also note that like last year I no longer offer high-resolution disks for mini sessions. You can still purchase all of the files in your gallery for $150 (plus tax) like you could before, but instead of a disk you will just be able to download the files directly from your online gallery to your computer. If you still want an actual disk, you can purchase one for an additional fee.

Keep reading below for more info about mini sessions and specific details!

On June 11, 2016 at 7:07AM, we welcomed our precious rainbow baby, Brynlee Marie, in to our family.  She weighed 7lbs 13oz and was 20″ long.  This precious little girl was born almost 3 weeks before her June 30th due date, which just so happened to also be the day we found out we lost Brighton.  The fact that they shared that date was most definitely God orchestrated to remind us that He truly fulfills His promises and that everything was going to be okay.  We chose to wait to find out baby’s gender until she was born and it was such an emotional moment finally having our healthy baby earthside and finding out she was a girl.  She will never replace our sweet Brighton but she has already brought so much healing to our hearts. “He has made everything beautiful in its time.” Ecclesiastes 3:11

I can’t believe this will be my eighth year offering mini sessions.  I remember back in 2009 when I did my first set of mini sessions for free and had to beg family and friends to let me take their photos.  I am so thankful for those friends and families who helped me learn and grow and become a better photographer along the way.  Every year I learned something new and improved my photography.  Over the last 8 falls, my business has grown so much so that last week I emailed past clients a list of 15 mini session spots and within 4 hours I only had 3 slots left.  And within 24 hours those last 3 spots were taken as well.  So I am now fully booked and will not be offering any other dates this year.  Thank you to every one who has come back to me year after year and supported my business. I am so blessed to have met so many new friends along the way and love seeing your families every year and seeing how much the kids have grown.  I wish I could take on more clients but I definitely know my limits and also want to be able to enjoy my family during these beautiful fall months.

And since a post is never complete without a photo, here is a peek at a session I did for my awesome friend and fellow photographer, Nicolle, back in April.  Isn’t her family adorable?!

I know it’s been awhile since I posted and you may have even tried to visit my site and it didn’t work so I wanted to leave a quick little note to let you know that my blog is currently under construction. I’ve been working on a big makeover so the look of my site is totally different (can you tell?!) and I’ve combined my website and blog in to one.  I also switched hosting companies and sadly, because of the switch in hosting, a lot of my photos aren’t showing up in posts. No need to worry though because I’m working hard to upload them all again so my blog is complete. About the first 30 posts need to be updated so in the mean time just continue moving to the next post if those annoying little blue question marks show up instead of photos. I promise it’ll all be fixed soon and I’ll even be posting MORE sessions so you can see my latest work! And since no post is complete without a photo, here is a photo from a recent newborn session!  How sweet is that little smile?!!
